Can anyone help please with advice on firms to do the move from the UK (Amersham) to Lauzun.

I would like your comments on your own experiences, both good and bad and also likely costs, so that we can budget for it.

We will be making the move around the end of March and need to start getting quotes.  I need to know which companies to avoid!

Hope you can help.

We had big international movers - Robinsons - 7 years ago - very expensive, loads of stuff broken and a day late into the bargain.

Try Ian at Mercury Movers advertised on this site - just moved my mum and fantastic.

Steve.

Hi John and thank you Steve for your kind reference!

If you would like to give us a call on 0553 208529 we would be happy to help in any way we can.  We work with a number of companies in the UK (all British Association of Removers members) and may be able to negociate trade rates for your upcoming move.  Absolutely no obligation, just give us a call.

Thanks

Ian

Hello Jeandemai, and welcome  :D:D:D.

Surely this is worthy of a celebration :dude:  ! We thought people were leaving 'our' area and returning to the UK in droves? Here we are with a new arrivee (is that a word) leaving blight-ee just ahead of the election (what do you know that we do not?).

That doesn't fit the accepted wisdom now does it?:?

(I am tempted to add some gratuitous and unnecessary smilies and exclamation marks - just because I can). :):):):)!!!!!!!

Hi

we moved over from Dunstable ( not far from Amersham) to the same area in June this year. We used Stephens (Luton) part of the Bishopsmove group.

In the uk we had used them for 4 previous moves over the years not one item had ever been broken. We really wanted them for the France move and they reduced their quote to beat my lowest. We had a vast 18ton brand new lorry which was loaded to the brim and it was £2800.00. I hope this helps.

Hi Doddles the secret knowledge we have is that it doesn't matter who wins the placing going to the dogs.

We are looking forward tot he challenge we have made for ourselves in Lauzun.

Get out of the rat race:shock:

I reckon £2800 is a pretty good price.  I'm moving 3 miles up the road (UK) in a couple of weeks and have been quoted just over £1000!  A second quote was £300 more expensive!
