Back to reality.
I understand the guy that has bought the Mill, has done so on the basis of getting Planning Permision for a restaurant on the ground floor, with rooms above.
Given that it was completely flooded to several feet last year, how will he get that.
Perhaps Steven might enlighten us.

Hi,
The mill already has planning for two shops, a restaurant and several apartments. He wishes to change that to hotel/restaurant with the emphasis on the restaurant - the technicalities will be down to his builders although remember that 2009 was the first the mill has flooded for years and was down to the worst tempete in decades!!
Steve.
PS: I for one am delighted that finally something will de done on "the bridge" side of Eymet.

To the New Owner :
Give it some welly!!
(maybe that should be written in dirty brown not "aqua" ? and plural "wellies" for their prospective guests or should that be "punters" ? ) Elizabeth

I hope he does work things out, although even with PP, he'll have his work cut out making it floodproof, which i'm sure his insurers will be looking at very closely, so i hope he has deep pockets.
I remember talking to a French guy, when i watched the flood/trees falling last year, and he said it has happened 4 times since 1969. He said in 1969, the water was upto Eymet Square.
It will be good for Eymet, and may prompt an improvement to the whole quai/ riverside area. It is certainly an underexploited asset of Eymet.

| Does anyone have any idea when the work will start on the old mill ? or is it still being discussed. Would be good to sort out that awful car park.

Because of the size of the project and planning applications work is unlikely to start before the Autumn.
